This disease is recognized as the most common cause of dementia and every year it becomes an increasingly acute global problem. According to current estimates, there are 44 million confirmed cases of dementia worldwide. However, this number is noticeably lower than the real statistics, since many people suffering from this disease still have not received the necessary diagnosis. Researchers predict that by 2050 this number will increase at least three times. All this points to the need to take urgent measures to cope with the growing epidemic of dementia.

The main features of Alzheimer's disease are changes in synaptic signaling, loss of synapses and, in some cases, loss of neurons themselves or their degeneration. Elderly people are most often at risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. The problems of its early diagnosis are primarily due to the similarity of manifestations of cognitive decline in patients with Alzheimer's disease and in people with normal aging. Thus, minor memory impairments for recent events, difficulties in remembering new information may be early symptomatic manifestations of Alzheimer's disease.

On our initiative, a group of scientists from the E.D. Goldberg Tomsk Research Institute conducted a
scientific study, during which a new remedy with an antiamnestic effect was found based on the sum of
polyprenols of Siberian Fir (Abies sibirica Ledeb.), the Pine family (fam. Pinaceae). Based on the results obtained, our company has developed and produced a new dietary supplement
"Neuropren", aimed at combating neurodegenerative diseases, as an adjunctive therapy for Alzheimer's disease.
